How do political boundaries and borders affect tourism?

Eg Perceived barriers to tourism for tourists? I think Europe has really helped things (and tourists!) out with the collaboration of the EU and the Euro. What do you think? What about Canada and the US? Would love to hear your views on this.

    we americans don’t like to be slowed down on borders.
