Most homeowners take great pride in keeping their property looking spotless all year long. Yet the cost of such up-keep can really become expensive after a while. Fertilizing the grass normally takes place in late spring. It is common for people to fertilize again in the late fall so that the precipitation over the winter can help their grass stay green. At the end of winter, make sure you stock up on plenty of ice melt and a couple of good quality snow shovels and spades. This way you will save money on the items you require for next winter.
There are some big ticket items that generally can be found in any yard. Some of them are required and others are luxury items that allow you to enjoy your backyard more in your spare time. Lawn mowers and weed trimmers are very expensive during the spring and summer months. I can’t tell you how many people I know who have required to pay the current price for one because theirs stopped working. If you know your lawnmower is on its last legs, buy one at the end of the summer when they are very reasonably priced.
